In precision engineering, a rotary table is a device used to rotate a workpiece around an axis with controlled and precise motion.
Based on our experience in precision engineering, combined with advanced CNC technologies, we manufacture high-accuracy rotary table components designed to provide controlled movement, repeatable positioning and high structural stability, even in complex industrial applications.
Rotary tables are devices used on machine tools, CNC machining centres and automation systems to allow controlled rotation of the workpiece around an axis.
They make it possible to machine multiple sides of a component without repositioning, reducing set-up times and improving overall machining quality.
OMGM specialises in the manufacture of high-precision mechanical components used in rotary table assemblies. We focus on parts that require tight tolerances, high rigidity and consistent material quality.
These components are supplied to rotary tables manufacturers, who integrate them into the complete system together with motors, encoders, locking devices and electronic control units.
precision-machined support surfaces used to secure workpieces.
load-bearing structures produced from solid material using CNC turning and milling.
precision-machined cavities for transmissions, bearings and locking systems.
connection and support components required for final assembly.
Several rotary table configurations are available, each requiring specific components that we can manufacture, including:
Diameters, materials, reduction ratios and geometries can be manufactured to the machine builder’s specifications, ensuring full compatibility with different machine tools.
Rotary tables components are manufactured using materials selected to ensure rigidity, motion stability and long service life, even in high-speed applications or under variable loads.
The main body is typically produced from steel or high-strength cast iron. These materials provide excellent structural rigidity and vibration-damping capability, which are essential for maintaining accuracy and repeatability during machining operations.
Internal components such as pistons, racks, rotating shafts and guide supports are manufactured from specific alloy steels. These materials are selected to withstand high loads and ensure smooth, controlled motion. Sliding surfaces and bearings are treated with wear-resistant coatings and dedicated lubrication solutions, helping to maintain stable operation and reduce maintenance over time.
Once the most suitable production cycle has been defined for the rotary table component, based on required tolerances and any heat or surface treatments, manufacturing starts using only certified raw materials. CNC machining operations are then carried out to produce the rotary table components required by the customer. Turning, milling and grinding processes are used to achieve the specified dimensional and geometric tolerances.
The process is completed with rigorous three-dimensional metrology inspection, confirming full compliance with the technical drawings and overall component quality before delivery.

Rotary tables are used in a wide range of precision engineering applications where accurate positioning, controlled motion, multi-axis machining and high-accuracy rotation are required.
The primary application sector. Rotary tables are used for milling, turning, drilling, grinding, 4-axis and 5-axis machining, as well as indexing operations. Typical applications include machining centres, multitasking machines, robotic cells and automated production lines.
Used for indexing operations, rotation of filling units, synchronised handling, part transfer and orientation in high-speed automatic machines.
Applied in blister machines, filling systems, inspection units and automatic lines where accuracy and repeatability are essential. Suitable for positioning stations and controlled handling operations.
used in packaging lines, dosing stations, step-by-step handling systems and rotating assemblies that require materials and treatments suitable for frequent washdowns.
Rotary tables are integrated into Cartesian robots, rotary modules, positioning stations and high-precision orientation devices.
Used in electromechanical systems, positioning platforms, aiming mechanisms and heavy-duty actuators.
Precision rotary tables are characterised by high angular accuracy, rigid construction and dimensional stability. They are designed to maintain consistent performance over time, offering low indexing error and excellent repeatability, even in demanding machining operations.
A motorised rotary table provides programmable and repeatable motion with high positional accuracy, reducing cycle times in CNC machining. Integration with numerical control systems allows automatic rotation and efficient positioning, making it suitable for continuous industrial production.
Pneumatic rotary tables are suitable for applications requiring fast, compact and repeatable movement, such as automatic assembly systems or robotic lines. Pneumatic actuation reduces mechanical wear and allows smooth motion control with limited maintenance requirements.
