In mechanical engineering, nozzles are the result of a tightly controlled manufacturing process.
Each component is produced to suit the specific application, using advanced CNC machining and customised dimensional inspection to ensure reliable performance, long service life and correct integration within complex mechanical assemblies.
Nozzles are mechanical components used as connection or support elements between two parts of a system, often operating under mechanical movement, pressure or fluid flow.
Their purpose is to maintain accurate alignment and structural stability, ensuring the mechanical assembly operates efficiently and safely over time.
Using high-precision CNC machine tools and long-established know-how, we achieve micrometre-level tolerances, together with surface finishes of Ra ≤ 0.8 µm, suitable for applications requiring a high level of accuracy.
Depending on the application, nozzles can be produced in different designs and configurations. The main types include:
The most widely used solution. They allow pipes, fittings or mechanical components to be connected via internal or external threads and are commonly used in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
These are permanently fixed to structures or flanges by welding. They provide high mechanical strength and are used where a permanent and secure connection is required.
Supplied with an integrated flange for bolted fixing. This solution is preferred when the connection must be dismantled for inspection or maintenance.
Manufactured to customer drawings using CNC machining. They feature customised geometries for specific interfaces, such as pin seats, housings or controlled fluid passages.
Designed to accommodate seals or O-rings. They are used where fluid retention is required or where small misalignments must be compensated.
Nozzles are manufactured from a range of materials selected according to mechanical loads, environmental conditions and functional requirements.
Carbon steels are used where high structural strength is required, stainless steels are chosen for corrosive or hygienic environments, and lightweight aluminium alloys are used where reduced weight is needed without compromising machining accuracy.
Nozzles are produced using advanced multi-axis CNC machines, allowing complex geometries to be machined with a high degree of precision.
The main operations include turning, milling, drilling, all carried out with personalised tooling to ensure correct surface finish and accurate fit with mechanical system components.
During machining, each part is checked through in-process dimensional inspections to ensure compliance with the design tolerances. Final inspection is carried out in the metrology room using 3D measuring equipment, certifying compliance with the specified requirements.
The entire process, from technical drawing review through machining and final inspection, is managed as an integrated workflow. This approach ensures dimensional consistency, process reliability and repeatable results, even for small and medium production batches, guaranteeing optimal delivery times and maintaining stable performance over time.

Nozzles are used in a wide range of industrial sectors where accuracy and reliability are essential:
Used in tool change systems, feed units, internal handling and positioning mechanisms, where maximum accuracy and repeatability are required.
The main application sector for mechanical cams. They are essential for synchronised motion, continuous high-speed cycles, pick-and-place systems, dosing units and complex movements typical of automatic machinery.
Used in mechatronic systems, actuators, control mechanisms and kinematic assemblies operating under vibration and severe environmental conditions.
Used to synchronise processing and packaging operations, ensuring reliable performance in environments subject to frequent washdowns and repetitive high-speed cycles.
In environments exposed to moisture, aggressive fluids or temperature variations, corrosion-resistant materials or specific surface treatments are recommended to ensure long service life and reliable operation over time.
A nozzle is mainly used as a connection or interface element between mechanical parts or fluid circuits, while a flanged bush is designed to support and guide rotating components, reducing friction and wear.
When the application requires tight tolerances, specific geometries or precise interfaces, a custom-made nozzle is recommended. Standard solutions are typically used for simple connections or applications subject to limited mechanical stress.
