Grippers for automation and robotics
Grippers are indispensable components in automated handling technology. They enable precise and reliable motion sequences and are individually tailored to specific production requirements to ensure optimal integration into existing manufacturing lines.
Design of Grippers for Automated Systems
Advanced 3D design enables the development of a wide range of gripper systems, including both mechanical and vacuum grippers, for sectors such as packaging, industrial automation and robotics. Each solution is developed around specific production requirements to provide the most suitable technology for the application, ready for installation on the production line.
OMGM Group specialises in the design and manufacture of mechanical and vacuum grippers, also supplied as complete assemblies, for the automated handling of objects on production lines. Through internal collaboration with Omega Engineering, a partner specialising in mechanical design and 3D modelling, turnkey solutions are developed for equipping industrial robots or 2-axis Cartesian systems.
Roughing and finishing of the cam track are performed on 5-axis CNC milling machines, using programs developed with CAD/CAM software to ensure geometric accuracy and process repeatability.
Quality inspection is carried out on a DEA GLOBAL coordinate measuring machine equipped with a scanning probe for accurate measurement of the geometry and form of the cam track.
Application requirements are analysed in detail during the design phase, with a 3D CAD simulation carried out before production. This approach reduces the risk of unforeseen issues and optimises the integration of the gripper into the production line.
The images show two key stages of the process: the design phase and the final build of a vacuum gripper and a mechanical gripper.
